GSE Protective Security Specialist Training Course
Course Length: 120 Hours Course Cost: $3,500
Prerequisite: Be a minimum of 18 years old and a United States Citizen or legal resident alien of the United States.
Course Description: Using proven protective detail models, from the real world experience of GSE’s cadre of EP, PSD and PPS Instructors students will learn to use a pro-active process to prevent threats while maintaining the ability to use reactive skills when a threat is present. This is designed to enable students to operate in self-supporting details but will also encompass interfacing with other details, law enforcement, and other security personnel.
Graduates will be able to provide a secure environment for a client through identifying and controlling potential risks while the client is on foot, in a vehicle, or within a structure in dynamic situations. Graduates will also learn procedures to control the effects of unusual incidents in a professional manner to maintain the client's safety and image and a consistent proper working relationship with the client, client's family, and staff. The course content includes classes and discussions as applied to permissive and semi-permissive environments. Includes VA DCJS 32E certification.

GSE Security Driver Training
Course Length: 3 Days Course Cost: $2,500
Prerequisite: Valid driver’s license.
Course Description: Security Driver Training is an intensive course designed to provide classroom and practical training on driving techniques used to identify and evade terrorist and criminal threats in the tactical environment. The subjects covered provide the student with driving skills to identify, assess, and evade possible hostile actions by terrorists. The training day is 80% hands-on training in GSE provided training vehicles and includes metal-to-metal contact while driving for the most effective, realistic training possible. This course also includes a full day of Fixed, Mobile and Technique Surveillance Detection training.
Topics Covered: Travel Security Assessment, Terrorist/Criminal Methodology, Route Security Assessment, Surveillance Detection Plan, Driving Emergency Response, Braking Drills, Avoidance Drills, Response Drills, Skid Control, City Streets & Heavy Traffic Driving, Close Proximity Driving, Driving Beyond Normal Limits, High Speed Techniques, Minimum Visual Distance, Cornering, Evasive Actions, Ramming / Barricades, Reverse 180 Turns, Driver Down - Right Front Seat Driving, Countering the Drive – by Threat and Attack Recognition and Fixed, Mobile and Technique Surveillance Detection training.
Surveillance & Counter Surveillance
Course Length: 4 Days Course Cost: $1,500
Prerequisite: None.
Course Description: The course will be delivered to ensure students cover the theory of surveillance and then progress to the practical aspects culminating in structured exercises allowing the students to practice what they have been taught throughout the course. On completion students will be able to conduct surveillance activities in a competent and professional manner and possess a working knowledge of the legislation relevant to surveillance and also be proficient in Counter Surveillance.

Site Advances
Course Length: 3 Days Course Cost: $400
Prerequisite: None.
Course Description: An Advance is a move from a place of security to one of uncertainty. This course will teach the student how to conduct a proper security advance as a member of the SAT: Security Advance Team.
Topics Covered: Identify the Elements of a Security Advance Team (SAT), Identify Phases of the Security Advance, Define the Duties & Responsibilities of SAT Leader, Cite Scheduled Advance Requirements, Route & Site Surveys (Scheduled Events), Cite “Fastball” Advance Requirements, Identify the Need of Agents Working PSD, Plan for; Media, Paparazzi, Press & Other PSD / VIP’s, Plan for Air Operations/Other Assets, Identify the Elements of a High Risk Advance Team (HRAT), Pre-Advance, Arrivals/Departures, Meet & Greets, Route Selection and Checkpoints for Each Type of Advance.
GSE Basic Handgun and VA CCW Course
Course Length: 1 Day (Includes Range) Course Cost: $175
Prerequisite: Virginia Resident for Concealed Carry Portion.
Course Description: This course is designed to develop safe firearm handling skills. The student will learn the basic fundamentals of shooting and how to safely draw their weapon out of the holster. The student will also develop a solid foundation of shooting skills. The student will quickly gain experience, confidence and increase their skill level with their handgun.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Handgun Safety certificate to submit to the County Circuit Court in your jurisdiction to obtain your concealed handgun permit.
Topics Covered: Safety & Handling, Draw, Stances, Fundamentals of Shooting and Malfunctions. Firearms Safety, Nomenclature, Loading & Unloading (Practical Exercise in Gun Handling, Stopping Power (Anatomical Theory of Stopping Power), Virginia Concealed Handgun & Firearms Law, Golden Rules of Deadly Force in Self Defense, Beyond the Classroom.
GSE AR-15 / M-4 Tactical Carbine Course
Course Length: 1 Day (Includes Range) Course Cost: $175
Prerequisite: None.
Course Description: This course is designed to develop a solid foundation of shooting skills with the carbine rifle. The student will exercise these skills in a variety of shooting situations. The student will quickly gain experience, confidence and increase their skill level with the carbine and using it in tactical situations.
Topics Covered: Safety, Nomenclature, Fundamentals of Shooting, Stances, Malfunctions, Speed Shooting, Multiple Shoots, Multiple Targets, Shooting Positions, Shooting on the Move, Moving Targets and Shooting from Cover.
GSE Tactical Shotgun Course
Course Length: 1 Day (Includes Range) Course Cost: $175
Prerequisite: None.
Course Description: This course fully develops the student’s ability to employ the shotgun in any tactical environment. Student will progress from basic handling and marksmanship to advanced shooting techniques that can be used in any tactical environment.
Topics Covered: Shotgun Safety & Handling, Nomenclature, Carrying Techniques, Pattering, Slug Sight-In, Ready Positions, Shooting Positions, Malfunctions, Transitions from Handgun to Shotgun, Multiple Targets, Combat / Tactical Reloads, Shotgun Retention, Proper Use of Sling, and Decision Making.
GSE Firearms Safety for Concealed Carry Course
Course Length: 4 Hours Course Cost: $100
Prerequisite: Virginia Resident.
Course Description: Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Handgun Safety certificate to submit to the County Circuit Court in your jurisdiction to obtain your concealed handgun permit. THIS IS NOT A COURSE TO TEACH YOU HOW TO SHOOT.
